Sobre DoubleZero (2Z)
What Is DoubleZero (2Z) and How Does It Work?
DoubleZero (2Z) is a decentralized network protocol designed to improve how blockchains communicate. Instead of relying on the public internet, it provides a dedicated layer for nodes, validators, and sequencers to exchange data with higher speed, reliability, and bandwidth. The 2Z token powers this ecosystem, serving as the medium for payments, rewards, and governance.
The network works through a two-ring architecture. The outer ring filters out spam, duplicates, and invalid traffic, while the inner ring transports “clean” data across a high-performance fiber mesh. Contributors who share underutilized fiber or run network resources earn 2Z tokens, while users like validators and RPC providers pay fees for faster, more predictable performance.
By combining financial incentives with cutting-edge infrastructure, DoubleZero creates a decentralized alternative to traditional internet routing. This makes it especially valuable for applications that need low latency and high throughput, such as consensus, block propagation, real-time oracles, and high-frequency trading systems.
When Did DoubleZero Launch?
DoubleZero was formally founded in 2024, led by co-founders Austin Federa (formerly with the Solana Foundation), Andrew McConnell, and Matteo Ward, with a mission to build a high-performance, decentralized networking layer optimized for blockchains.
The project held a private token sale in March 2025, raising about $28 million at a pre-valuation of $400 million, before running a validator-targeted sale via CoinList in April 2025. Its mainnet beta launch is slated for October 2, 2025, with 2Z token deployment beginning then, following an earlier mainnet alpha rollout in mid-September 2025.
OpenEden Roadmap Highlights and Milestones
- Q1 2025 — Private testnet deployment across selected validator nodes
- April 2–22, 2025 — Validator token sale via CoinList
- Q2 2025 / Mid-2025 — Public testnet opening to broader validator participation
- Q3 2025 — Multicast internal messaging features, continued network expansion
- October 2, 2025 — Mainnet beta launch + 2Z token deployment
- Late 2025 onward — Further feature rollouts, such as staking, permissionless bandwidth contribution, routing optimization, expanded blockchain compatibility
What Is the 2Z Token Used for?
The 2Z token is the native currency of the DoubleZero network, used to pay for high-performance connectivity between nodes, validators, RPCs, and sequencers. It also rewards network and resource providers who contribute fiber capacity or run infrastructure, powers staking and governance, and aligns incentives through fee distribution and token burning mechanisms.
On BingX, you can trade 2Z tokens directly on the spot market by depositing USDT, selecting the 2Z/USDT trading pair, and placing a buy or sell order. Once purchased, your 2Z tokens are securely stored in your BingX wallet.
What Is DoubleZero Tokenomics?
At launch, the total minted supply of 2Z tokens will be 10 billion. This supply is dynamic, as tokens can be minted via inflation to fund compute and security operations, and burned for integrity purposes to prevent inorganic traffic and ensure fair distribution. Over time, cumulative inflation is expected to be balanced by cumulative burning.

- Institutions — 12%, subject to the standard lockup
- Contributors — 4%, subject to the standard lockup
- Builders — 2%, subject to the standard lockup
- Validators — 1%, with 0.7% unlocked at launch and the rest unlocking 1 year after purchase (April/May 2026)
How to Earn 2Z Tokens on DoubleZero
You can earn 2Z tokens by actively contributing to the DoubleZero network. Instead of traditional mining, rewards are distributed to participants who help strengthen the protocol’s infrastructure, performance, and security.
- Provide Bandwidth as Network Providers: Contribute underutilized fiber or network links to DoubleZero’s mesh. The protocol measures performance and reliability, and distributes 2Z rewards to providers that meet service-level standards.
- Run Resources as Resource Providers: Operate the compute layer that powers DoubleZero’s control plane, monitoring links, verifying performance, and executing smart contract logic. You earn 2Z for helping maintain the system’s efficiency and integrity.
- Stake and Secure the Network: Validators and other participants can stake 2Z tokens to take on critical roles in governance and security. In return, they receive staking rewards while also bearing responsibility for network health.
- Participate as a Validator: Validators who integrate DoubleZero into their block propagation and consensus processes can earn 2Z through incentive programs. Early validator sales also included allocations with unlock schedules.
- Community and Builder Contributions: Developers, ecosystem builders, and contributors may be rewarded with 2Z tokens through foundation grants, builder programs, or community incentive campaigns.
DoubleZero uses a Shapley value–based reward model to ensure contributors are paid fairly according to their actual impact. This discourages fake traffic or spam and aligns rewards with meaningful contributions, while burns further protect network integrity.
How Does DoubleZero Compare to Other DePIN Projects?
DoubleZero (2Z) sets itself apart from most DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network) projects by focusing on network bandwidth and latency optimization instead of storage, compute, or wireless access. While other DePINs like Helium or Io.net build decentralized alternatives for wireless coverage and GPU power, DoubleZero targets the “plumbing” of blockchain infrastructure, fast, reliable data transport for validators, RPC nodes, and sequencers. Its two-ring architecture (filter + transport) gives it an edge in filtering spam traffic and ensuring high-quality packet delivery.
Another key difference is the economic model. DoubleZero uses a Shapley value–based reward system and a burn-and-mint mechanism that directly ties token distribution to real performance impact. This discourages artificial traffic generation, a common challenge for DePIN projects. By combining fiber contribution incentives with staking and governance, DoubleZero positions itself as the backbone for high-frequency, low-latency blockchain operations, an area underserved by traditional DePIN players.
What Blockchain Network Does DoubleZero Operate on?
DoubleZero (2Z) operates as a layered infrastructure protocol built on the Solana blockchain, using the SPL token standard for its native token. By leveraging Solana’s high throughput and low-latency design, DoubleZero integrates directly with validators, RPCs, and sequencers that rely on fast communication. The protocol acts as a specialized “internet layer” for blockchain networks, while the 2Z token circulates within the Solana ecosystem for payments, rewards, staking, and governance.
How to Store 2Z Tokens Securely
The most convenient way to store your 2Z tokens is directly on BingX. When you buy 2Z on the BingX spot market, your tokens are automatically held in your BingX wallet, protected by advanced security measures such as multi-sig cold storage, Proof of Reserves, and the BingX Shield Fund. This option is ideal if you plan to trade frequently, since you can easily deposit, withdraw, or convert your tokens without leaving the platform.
For long-term holders or those who prefer self-custody, you can transfer 2Z tokens to any Solana-compatible wallet, such as Phantom, Solflare, or Ledger hardware wallets. These wallets give you full control of your private keys and let you interact directly with the Solana ecosystem. Always ensure you back up your recovery phrase and keep your device updated to reduce risks of hacks or unauthorized access.
Is DoubleZero (2Z) a Good Investment?
DoubleZero (2Z) stands out as a potential investment because it addresses one of blockchain’s biggest bottlenecks, network performance. Unlike other DePIN projects that focus on compute or storage, DoubleZero delivers low-latency, high-bandwidth connectivity that directly improves validator efficiency, block propagation, and real-time applications like oracles and high-frequency trading.
Its innovative two-ring architecture and Shapley value–based reward system ensure fair distribution of incentives while discouraging spam traffic, creating sustainable utility for the 2Z token. With backing from major players like Jump Crypto, a structured tokenomics model, and its upcoming mainnet launch in October 2025, DoubleZero positions itself as critical infrastructure for the next generation of blockchain networks; though, as with all crypto investments, risks around regulation, adoption, and market volatility remain.
