Origin Trail DKG and Origin Trail parachain are definite technical components in the infrastructure, each running on separate networks and both having their own token system. TRAC and OTP tokens both exist as utility tokens for their perspective components, as TRAC is for DKG and OTP for the parachain.

What is Origin Trail and how does Origin Trail work? It is an idea that started with the ecosystem's core values of neutrality, inclusiveness, and usability. Aiming to grant a permissionless exchange of valuable information in a trusted and secure manner, while all the network users keep sovereignty over ownership of data.

Progressing to Origin Trail expansion, the team proposed a phased approach to how they can approach to integrate a multi-chain strategy and be able to expand the capacity of the consensus layer. The phase was named Starfleet and soon yielded integrations with the layer 2 blockchains called Gnosis and Polygon which cause massive efficiencies to the consensus layer of Origin Trail. As the Starfleet phase progressed, Origin Trails becomes more mature and started introducing its own DKG-specific layer 1 - the Origin Trail parachain. Aiming to run on Polkadot layer 0, the Origin Trail Parachain will bring a huge capacity to incentivize the usage growth of DKG, gaining efficiency without sacrificing decentralization, and network effects along with the interoperability with other parachains.

TRAC and OTP Updates and Features

The Origin Trail tech stack leverages blockchains by including them into two network layers which are the layer 2 Origin Trail DKG and layer 1 multi-chain consensus.

Layer 2: Origin Trail DKG

The upper layer of the Origin Trail stack represents the decentralized knowledge graph, a global trusted index for web3 assets hosted on the permissionless Origin Trail decentralized network. The decentralized knowledge graph features a decentralized search, asset tracking, recommendations, knowledge graph reasoning, and more getting introduced on the latest iteration of the network. Origin Trail DKG is not a blockchain but rather a permissionless knowledge graph hosted on the Origin Trail Decentralized network, anyone can contribute to the Origin Trail DKG and use its services by using the TRAC token.

Layer 1: Multi-chain consensus

Origin Trail consensus layer consists of blockchains that enable trusted computation in order for the DKG to operate in a decentralized environment. At present, the Origin Trail consensus layer is deployed on Ethereum, Gnosis chain, and Polygon, making Origin Trail a multi-chain system with the ability to integrate all assets native to the connected blockchains.

Origin Trail Parachain

Origin Trail Parachain is the next-generation layer 1 blockchain designed to integrate with the Origin Trail DKG. The parachain leverages a strong trust model and inherent interoperability of Polkadot, allowing smooth integration with other Polkadot ecosystem projects.
