Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty responded after the U.S. SEC reclassified XRP, Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA) as nonsecurity crypto assets. In a March 18, 2026 post on X, he said Ripple "always knew" XRP was not a security and argued the shift could mean less restrictive rules. XRP was trading at $1.51, down 1.19% in 24 hours, while volume fell 41.25% to $3.07 billion.

XRPL has surpassed 7.7 million non-empty wallets for the first time in its 13+ year history, alongside a five-week high in activity. XRP later moved above $1.50 after a +14% move in 48 hours and traded around $1.51 at publication time, while volume rose 91.71% to $5.2 billion.
