KAIO, formerly known as Libre Capital, was founded in 2023–2024 by Dr. Avtar Sehra (CEO), with key team members including Olivier Dang (COO). It originated as a joint venture involving Laser Digital (Nomura) and WebN Group (Brevan Howard) to build compliant infrastructure for tokenizing institutional funds. The project rebranded to KAIO on July 30, 2025, coinciding with the launch of a $100 million tokenized Bitcoin yield fund.
