Upbit Tells FSS of Hack 6 Hours After Detection as Solana Tokens Stolen

Upbit notified South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service at 10:58 a.m. on Nov. 27, about 6 hours after detecting abnormal trades at 4:42 a.m., Chosun Ilbo reported, citing FSS materials obtained by lawmaker Kang Min-kuk. In that period, hackers allegedly stole more than 1040 billion Solana ecosystem tokens worth about 44.5 billion won in 54 minutes, the report said. Upbit convened an emergency meeting 18 minutes after discovery, paused Solana network token deposits and withdrawals 27 minutes later, and halted all digital asset deposits and withdrawals at 8:55 a.m. The exchange said it fully compensated users with its own funds and reported to authorities immediately after confirming the intrusion.
