Open interest on Hyperliquid's HIP-3 DEX rose past $790 million to an all-time high on January 27, driven mainly by a surge in commodities trading, according to The Block. Hyperliquid CEO Jeff Yan said the platform is among the most liquid venues for crypto price discovery, adding its BTC perpetual futures spreads are tighter than on Binance. The HIP-3 protocol added Builder-Deployed Perpetuals in October last year, enabling eligible developers to launch their own perpetual futures markets. TradeXYZ is currently the largest HIP-3 DEX, with about $22 billion in daily trading volume and roughly 90% of the overall market share.

A new address linked to "BTC OG insider whale" withdrew 23,000 ETH from Binance and deposited it into Aave on January 26, about 10 minutes earlier, BlockBeats reported citing on-chain data. On Aave, the address currently holds 106,000 ETH valued at $308 million, has borrowed 180 million USDC, and its health factor stands at 1.42.

VanEck is launching VAVX, described as the first US spot AVAX ETF, on Nasdaq on January 26 during the Monday trading session, according to an official announcement. The ETF will stake a portion of its AVAX holdings and distribute the net rewards to investors after deducting expenses. VanEck had previously stated it would waive fees on the first $500M of assets flowing into the product.

Liquid Capital (formerly LD Capital) founder Yi Lihua said on January 26 that the market is oscillating at low levels despite notable buying, citing heavy accumulation by Trend Research, purchases by BMNR and MicroStrategy, and a call from CZ for a super bull cycle, according to BlockBeats.
