SEC asks for public input on whether OTC Rule 15c2-11 should cover crypto assets

The US Securities and Exchange Commission is proposing to amend Rule 15c2-11 so OTC broker-dealer quoting requirements apply only to "equity securities", reversing a 2021 interpretation that extended the rule to fixed-income markets. It also opened a 60-day comment window to gather views on how "equity security" should be defined and whether certain crypto assets could fall within the rule's scope.
