What Is Cloud (CLOUD) and How Does It Work?
Cloud (CLOUD) is the native governance and coordination token of Sanctum, a
Solana-based protocol designed to unify and scale the
liquid staking ecosystem. Sanctum allows users to seamlessly move between different Solana
liquid staking tokens (LSTs) through a shared liquidity layer, reducing fragmentation and improving capital efficiency across the network. CLOUD sits at the center of this system, aligning incentives between users, developers, and ecosystem partners.
CLOUD works primarily as a governance and participation token. Holders can stake CLOUD to receive staked CLOUD (sCLOUD), which grants governance rights and enables participation in Sanctum’s decision-making processes. Sanctum uses a novel governance model inspired by futarchy, where economic incentives and market signals help guide protocol decisions, aiming to make governance more data-driven and outcome-focused rather than purely political.
Beyond governance, CLOUD plays a role in ecosystem access and alignment. Projects building on or integrating with Sanctum may be required to stake CLOUD to become verified partners, while long-term stakers can earn rewards and reputation within the protocol. By tying governance, staking, and ecosystem coordination together, CLOUD helps Sanctum scale Solana liquid staking while keeping incentives aligned for sustainable growth.
When Did Sanctum and Cloud Token Launch?
Sanctum was founded by FP Lee, Jesse Cho, and Jaye Tan as a Solana-native DeFi protocol focused on solving fragmented liquidity across liquid staking tokens (LSTs) and building unified staking infrastructure. The team has roots in staking innovation on Solana dating back to its early stake pool work, eventually evolving into a platform that supports thousands of LSTs, deep liquidity layers, and enterprise staking tools.
The CLOUD governance token was formally launched on 18 July 2024 through an on-chain token generation event and airdrop, with trading and official deposits opening that same day. The launch included community incentives such as airdrop allocations and early participation rewards.

What Is the CLOUD Token Used for?
The CLOUD token is the governance and coordination token of the Sanctum ecosystem, designed to help decentralize decision-making and align incentives across the protocol. As a governance token, CLOUD holders can vote on key proposals, including resource allocation, strategic directions, and which partners or integrations are approved within the ecosystem. Its utility extends to qualifying for the Sanctum Verified Partner program, where projects must stake CLOUD to participate in certain initiatives and earn ecosystem privileges. CLOUD also underpins various ecosystem incentives, helping reward active contributors and supporting new products and services as Sanctum grows.
You can trade CLOUD tokens on
BingX’s Spot market by selecting the
CLOUD/USDT trading pair, entering your desired buy or sell price, and executing the order in just a few taps within the platform’s Spot trading interface. Once your order is filled, the CLOUD tokens will be reflected in your wallet on BingX, where you can hold, trade, or withdraw them according to your strategy.
What Is Cloud Tokenomics?
Sanctum has a fixed total supply of 1,000,000,000 CLOUD tokens.

How to Stake Cloud on Sanctum Liquid Staking Protocol
Staking CLOUD on Sanctum allows you to participate in governance and earn ecosystem rewards through staked CLOUD (sCLOUD). The process is simple and fully on-chain.
1. Connect Your Wallet: Visit the Sanctum platform and connect a supported
Solana wallet, such as
Phantom, Backpack, or
Solflare, that holds CLOUD tokens. Always ensure you’re using the official Sanctum interface before connecting.
2. Stake CLOUD Tokens: Navigate to the CLOUD staking section, enter the amount of CLOUD you want to stake, and confirm the transaction in your wallet. Once completed, your CLOUD is converted into sCLOUD, which represents your staked position and governance power.
3. Participate and Earn: While staked, sCLOUD enables you to vote on governance proposals, qualify for active staking rewards, and access ecosystem privileges such as partner programs. If you choose to unstake, your CLOUD will be subject to a predefined unbonding period before becoming transferable again.
Tip: Staking rewards and governance influence are typically higher for long-term, active participants, making CLOUD staking best suited for users aligned with Sanctum’s long-term growth.
